Student Reflections on the Kulm Mural
Mural artist, Krista Lundgren held a full day of Art Talks with KPS students in small groups, answering questions about the creation process and encouraging them to reflect on their relationship to the artwork. She was even able to integrate new ideas they suggested. The following are a sampling of reflections submitted by the students.
"The mural makes me feel happy and proud of our town because we have so many activities and support from the people around us.""[This painting] makes me feel like I come from a great community. I like how it involves more than just the school and involves everyone.""The mural makes me feel like I'm part of a great community." |
"The best part about this mural is what it shows others about our community. When other towns come to our school, they see our love and willingness to help each other.""I was lucky enough to be on the committee of community members who helped with brainstorming different ideas for the mural, so seeing the project come together on the wall has been amazing." |
